James Millichap-Merrick Non-executive Director, Main Board
James earned his degree from Imperial College, London in Life Sciences covering Environmental Science, Biology and Chemistry and is an Associate of the Royal College of Science.
Over the last 21 years, he has developed considerable international Investment Banking experience and established strong business associations globally; as co-founder and President of Harrington Chase plc, an international investment banking boutique; specializing in the US public markets, as director at Fidelity Brokerage and most recently as UK Managing Director, FSA regulated for Yorkville Advisors a $1bn hedge fund, investing in small cap public companies. In less than 7months, he managed a team to win more than $296m of investment business. Of the Investments James personally handled and managed the return on, both in their investment structure at outset, legal close and returns to the Fund; he achieved a compound annual return of 31.74%, with an outperformance over the share of value of 52.74% over the same period.
He gained hands on business experience in the period post 911, co-running a US public company (managing public fillings, Legal and Accounting reporting and reconciliation, International reverse Merger and Global Licenses, as well an entire restructure of the business and financial models). He has experience being at the ‘coal face’ with management, understanding business’ critical needs.
The founders believe James is well placed to use his contacts and experience to help build out the business growth objectives of Bruarfoss, using his prime connections in the Far East, China and the Middle East. James is non-exec Chairman of an International sustainable green oil company.
