Dr Paul Clayton
Dr Paul Clayton graduated summa cum laude in Medical Pharmacology from Edinburgh University, prior to obtaining his PhD. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine and a former Senior Scientific Advisor to the UK government's Committee on the Safety of Medicines. He has worked with Sweden's Karolinska Institute and has trained the pharmacists in Britain' s largest chemist chain in preventative nutrition. He is now a consultant to several well-known international companies. Dr Clayton designs clinical trials for nutritional therapies at leading teaching hospitals and lectures widely on nutrition and health. He has directed TV and radio programmes on health issues, and written extensively on these topics.     
 
Dr Clayton has recently been appointed as Research Director of Medical Nutrition Matters, a post-graduate course in Oxford registered with, and approved by the BMA. Its function is to teach nutrition to GP's and other health care providers. He also holds the position of President of the Board of Nutrition Royal Society of Medicine. Dr Clayton is a Director of Young at Heart Limited. He frequently presents at and chairs international conferences on nutrition and health, most recently at the prestigious Academie de France.

He is the author of Health Defence - now a best-selling book. In Health Defence Dr Clayton examines health statistics from around the world, analyses the results of thousands of clinical trials, plus the records of many healthy 100-year-olds, to identify the nutrients that feature consistently in the world's healthiest diets. It is those nutrients that form the basis of his optimum supplement and diet.
