Dr. Dorian Dugmore
Dr Dugmore has been working in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness for over 25 years and has written extensively on health, exercise and heart disease. Whilst program director of the world's leading cardiac rehabilitation centre in Toronto he was appointed co-chair of the international steering committee for the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) and co-chair of the steering committee forming the
the first multi-disciplinary "World Council" in Cardiac Rehabilitation. He has pioneered a cardiac rehabilitation scheme within the Dudley Health Authority and was a prime mover in the formulation of both the British and European Associations of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation.
Dr Dugmore has earned numerous awards for his work, including an MEB "Heart of Britain Award", recognising his contribution towards improving quality of life within the community, fellowship of the AACVPR for outstanding services to cardiac rehabilitation and membership of the National Canadian Cholesterol Council. Dorian, more recently, has been awarded the ABI Medical Community Award, The Vistage International award for his services to their members as well as an award from The American Society of Exercise Physiologists for his work on Cardio Rehab and Sport Performance to Corporation Wellness. He is also Chairman of Sport England. In his presentation to The Academy for Chief Executives, Health and fitness in the corporate setting, Dr Dugmore takes an overview of health and fitness and the chief executive, and their approach towards health, fitness and the prevention of degenerative disease. Dorian has recently been appointed as the President of The World Council for Cardiac rehabilitation. |
